Summary

This trial is testing a new program to see if it helps African American men get screened for colorectal cancer. Participants get text messages and videos to help them overcome barriers to screening.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for African American men who aren't up-to-date with colorectal cancer screenings, own a smartphone capable of texting and web access, and speak English. Men with a personal history of colorectal cancer cannot participate.
What is being tested?
The study tests if an mHealth program on smartphones increases the rate at which African American men get screened for colorectal cancer compared to those who just receive standard CDC educational texts.
What are the potential side effects?
Since this intervention involves information via text messages and does not include medication or medical procedures, there are no direct physical side effects associated with participating in this clinical trial.
