Summary
This trial is studying how the brain processes speech.
Who is the study for?
This trial is for adults aged 18-85 with Parkinson's disease, essential tremor, or dystonia who are scheduled for Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) implantation. Participants must be able to understand the study and follow instructions. People with hearing loss or those who do not speak English cannot join.
What is being tested?
The study aims to gather electrophysiological data on brain activity during speech perception and production in patients undergoing DBS surgery for movement disorders.
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial involves non-invasive data collection rather than a drug or medical intervention, there are no direct side effects associated with the procedures described.
