Summary
This trial looks at how well cancer genetic testing works in different ethnic groups. It could help find cancer genes and other people at risk. The info could also help with cancer risk stratification ( figuring out who is most likely to get cancer) and individualized screening ( tests specifically for the person being tested).
Who is the study for?
This trial is for adults from diverse ethnic backgrounds, including Hispanic/Latino, Native American/Alaskan, African American, Asian and European descent who have solid tumor cancers. They must be able to provide a blood sample and agree to genetic testing at Mayo Clinic in Arizona or Florida.
What is being tested?
The study focuses on collecting biospecimens and conducting genetic tests among various ethnic groups. It aims to identify cancer genes for better risk assessment and personalized screening strategies.
What are the potential side effects?
There are generally no direct side effects from participating in this trial as it involves non-invasive procedures like blood collection and genetic testing.
