Summary

This trial looks at how well two types of MRI work in measuring language function before and after surgery for brain tumors.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for right-handed English speakers with a new brain mass suspected to be glioma, located near critical language areas. They must not have had prior neurologic diseases or treatments affecting cognition and should agree to pre- and post-surgery neuropsychological tests.
What is being tested?
The study measures the impact of surgery on language functions in glioma patients using resting-state functional MRI and cerebrovascular reactivity MRI before and after their operations.
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial involves non-invasive imaging techniques like MRI, side effects are minimal but may include discomfort from lying still during the scan or noise from the machine.

Timeline

Screening ~ 3 weeks
Treatment ~ Varies
Follow Up ~up to 6 weeks
This trial's timeline: 3 weeks for screening, Varies for treatment, and up to 6 weeks for reporting.
