Who is the study for?
This trial is for African American families in Minnesota, specifically parent-child pairs who are healthy. It's designed to see if park programs that respect their culture can help them be more active and improve health like blood pressure and sleep.
What is being tested?
The study tests two programs: 'NatureUplift', a culturally tailored nature-based program, and 'NatureUplift+Active', which adds walking/hiking education. Families will be randomly placed into one of these two groups to compare effects on physical activity and health.
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial involves non-medical interventions focused on physical activity and educational components, there are no direct medical side effects expected from participation.
