Summary
This trial is testing a new way to provide mental health care to children who are at risk for childhood trauma or serious emotional disturbance.
Who is the study for?
This trial is for children aged 3-17.5 years who are enrolled in MassHealth and have been referred by their primary care physicians from specific CHA sites due to concerns about mental health or substance use. They must show positive signs on standard screening tools or parental/PCP concern.
What is being tested?
The 'Safety-Net Care Team Model' aims to improve mental health outcomes for at-risk children with serious emotional disturbances by using mobile clinical and family support teams integrated within the healthcare system.
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial involves a care team approach rather than medication, traditional side effects are not applicable. However, there may be indirect effects such as increased stress or anxiety during the adjustment period to new interventions.
