Summary

This trial aims to develop a scalable intervention to improve cardiovascular health and psychosocial stress in Black men, to reduce CV disease risk. It will assess the efficacy of the intervention & evaluate the biological pathways.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for English-speaking Black men over 18 living in Metropolitan Columbus, Ohio, with below-average cardiovascular health as per the Life's Essential 8 score. It's not suitable for those who have been advised against physical activity by a healthcare provider.
What is being tested?
The 'Black Impact' intervention is being tested to see if it can improve cardiovascular health and reduce psychosocial stress. Participants will engage in weekly physical activities, health education, and work with a health coach for 24 weeks.
What are the potential side effects?
Since this intervention involves lifestyle changes like exercise and education rather than medication, side effects are minimal but may include typical exercise-related discomfort or injury.
