Summary

This trial will determine if a program can help people manage their migraines better.

Who is the study for?
This study is for English-speaking adults aged 18-65 with migraines, as per ICHD-3 criteria, who've had headaches for over a year and experience them 4-29 days a month. Participants must not change their preventive migraine medications during the study but can adjust acute meds if necessary. Exclusions include substance abuse, physical limitations preventing biofeedback participation, recent relaxation therapy for migraines, opioid or barbiturate use, severe depression scores (PHQ-8 >15), or certain serious health conditions.
What is being tested?
The NYU Langone Health Headache Center is testing how well people with migraines can learn to manage their condition using different methods: virtual training sessions, in-person training workshops, and a smartphone app called RELAXaHEAD. The goal is to see if these self-management techniques are practical and helpful.
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial focuses on non-medical interventions like training programs and an app for self-managing migraines rather than drugs or medical procedures, there aren't typical side effects associated with it. However, participants may experience varying levels of effectiveness or discomfort from engaging in the program.
