Summary
This trial looks at how genes and small molecules in blood and fat tissue change after a workout. The findings could help explain the benefits of exercise.
Who is the study for?
This trial is for adults aged 20-60 with obesity (BMI between 30.0 and 40.0) who are generally healthy, have an HbA1c level ≤5.7%, and do not exercise frequently or have diabetes. Participants must be willing to follow the study's protocol and not take certain medications that could affect the results.
What is being tested?
The study aims to observe how a single session of exercise can change gene expression and molecule levels in blood and fat tissue, helping us understand how physical activity benefits those with obesity or metabolic syndrome.
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial involves a bout of exercise, potential side effects may include typical post-exercise symptoms such as muscle soreness, fatigue, shortness of breath during exertion, dizziness or lightheadedness.
