Summary

This trial tests if eating ground-up flaxseed every day can lower blood pressure in people who are newly diagnosed with high blood pressure and haven't started any medication. The nutrients in flaxseed might help relax blood vessels and reduce blood pressure. Flaxseed has been shown to reduce blood pressure in hypertensive patients through its components like ω-3 fatty acids, lignans, and fiber.
