Summary
"This trial aims to help women who have experienced interpersonal violence and homelessness by improving their skills and self-confidence. They will also be taught positive parenting strategies through a program called Play and Learning Strategies."
Who is the study for?
This trial is for women who have faced domestic violence within the last two years, are currently homeless, and have at least one child under the age of six. Participants must speak English and their violent partner should not be present during enrollment.
What is being tested?
The study aims to help these women by using a program called Play and Learning Strategies (PALS) to improve parenting skills and cope with trauma from violence and homelessness, compared to usual care they would receive.
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial involves educational interventions rather than medical treatments, there are no direct physical side effects; however, participants may experience emotional discomfort when discussing personal experiences.
