Summary
This trial will assess how VIT & TS can improve respiratory function & quality of life in lung cancer patients. #MusicTherapy #LungCancer
Who is the study for?
This trial is for lung cancer patients, stages I-III, who've had certain surgeries like thoracentesis or lobectomy within the last year. They must be aged 40-80 and have less than five years of voice training. Excluded are those in respiratory failure, with severe neurological/hearing issues, dysphonia, no tech access or quiet space, and prisoners.
What is being tested?
The study tests how Vocal Intonation Therapy (VIT) and Therapeutic Singing (TS) affect breathing function short-term in lung cancer patients. It also looks at how these music therapies might improve their respiratory quality of life.
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial involves non-invasive music therapy interventions like singing and vocal exercises rather than drugs or surgery, significant side effects are not expected.
