Summary

This trial will test the feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary efficacy of adding weight loss nomograms and the Bite Counter to an established online weight loss program.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for adults with a BMI between 27 and 45 who want to lose weight. It's not suitable for those with health issues that make weight loss or exercise unsafe, heart problems, pregnancy, use of weight loss meds, recent cancer treatment, cognitive or physical limitations affecting computer use, or if they've had certain treatments in the past.
What is being tested?
The study tests an online behavioral weight loss program against two enhanced versions: one adds a personalized graph (nomogram) showing expected progress; the other includes both the nomogram and a Bite Counter device to monitor eating habits.
What are the potential side effects?
There may be minimal side effects as this trial focuses on non-invasive methods like online programs and wearable devices. However, participants might experience psychological stress from adherence pressure or frustration if results are slower than expected.
