Summary

This trial is testing a VR headset that shows a game to help children aged 5-17 feel less pain and anxiety during a kidney biopsy. The VR headset works by distracting the children, making the procedure less scary and painful.

This trial is for kids aged 5-17 at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital who need a kidney biopsy. It's not for those who can't lie on their back, have vertigo, serious developmental issues, skin infections on the head/face, blindness, improper headset fit, or severe injuries.

The study is looking into using VR headsets to help with pain and anxiety during kidney biopsies in children. Instead of regular sedation drugs, they'll use Samsung Gear VR to see if it makes the procedure easier.
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial uses VR instead of medication for sedation during biopsies, side effects might include discomfort from wearing the headset or motion sickness but no drug-related side effects.
